Alarm Clock

I found something that will wake me up straight out of bed...well almost, the first time it made noise it scared the crap out of me and I hit Jared to make him listen to see if I was hearing things...at the second noise we both jumped out of bed, and I was very very scared at this point. Did I mention it was 4 AM and someone was POUNDING, not knocking but POUNDING on our door. Ok, noone ever ever knocks on our door, especially not unexpected and not at 4 AM. So I make Jared go see who it is while I cower in the bedroom. I look around the corner as Jared answers the door. Luckily it wasn't a psycopath as I had imagined, but it was a poice officer. He asked if there was anything burning in our apartment and Jared said no. Then he explained that there was smoke coming from the apartment across from ours and that we needed to get everyone out of the apt and go downstairs until they find out what was going on. We get dressed, grab Rylee and head down to where everyone else was waiting near the 3 fire trucks and I think half a dozen cop cars. (The spot light on the fire engine works well to light the breezeway that the lights have been out in for over a year...I could actually see going down the stairs :) ) So we stand and watch the firemen break into the apartment across ours...it has been vacant for months!!! I am kinda impressed at how long it took them to get in...made me feel like maybe our door is a little safer than it looks. They finally got in and went searching around...spent a while looking in the closet on the balcony where the water heater is and then I decided I wanted to see if we could reduce the shocked look on Rylee's face by walking around away from the bright lights. When we got back the firemen and police officers were all standing around talking. I asked if we had the all clear to go back up and they said yes. Then I asked what was wrong and they said and "electrical issue" with the water heater. As we walked back into our apartment, the door was open to the apt across ours...and no shock to me...had quite a bit of furniture and stuff just hanging out in there; eventhough it has been vacant a while, the management hasn't cleaned it out at all...that is probably partially why there are bugs in our apartment. Then I was wide awake and only had about a half an hour to my usual wake-up for work time. Luckily Rylee did go back to sleep, but I updated FaceBook and Jared is watching our Gilmore Girls DVDs since we got our cable disconnected to save money. Ok, now I go get ready for work.

So I know this is a long time after it was promised, but I am lazy and haven't been feeling real great.



So I have known that I am pregnant since Aug 5th (when I went home from work early because I couldn't keep any food down). I had figured for a while that I was pregnant, but kept denying it because I didn't want the disappointment if I wasn't pregnant.



I had my first doctor appointment on Aug 12th where they did an ultrasound to see how far along I was since based on LMP I was 17 weeks and I knew that it was highly unlikely that I was truly that far along, my guess was 4-6 maybe 8 weeks.

Here is the ultrasound. Isn't he/she cute...hehe. Based on the ultrasound at that time I was 7 weeks and 1 day which puts my due date as March 30th, 2010.

We are very excited. I just can't wait until I get over "morning sickness" that lasts all day. I was sick with Rylee too...until 17 weeks :( I hope this one I am not sick that long. I haven't been puking, but there have been many times I wished I could just puke so I would feel a little better. I have been able to eat most of the time, and actually as I am eating is about the only time I feel good. The one other thing that I am not that excited about is the fact that our lease at our apartment expires on March 31st, 2010 and we are definitely not renewing our lease, we are fed up with maintenance here and the fact that we haven't had exterior lights around our building and carport for over a year. We are looking into buying a house, which is nerve wracking and confusing. Hopefully everything will work out great.

The one other thing that I am worried about probably mostly because I work in NyICU, is that I am going to have this baby early. With Rylee I was induced a week past my due date, but I was dilated to 4.5 cm when I went in for the induction and I had only felt some braxton hicks for the 3 days before Rylee was born (and I was 4 cm before I even felt contractions). So I was dilating without feeling contractions and I am worried that the 2nd will be faster than the first and that I will dilate without knowing. Ok so that is my new blog entry. Are your going to find out gender...Yes

Was this planned...Kinda, it is hard to really plan when I don't have normal cycles, oh wait, I don't really have cycles most of the time. Which is why we had to use clomid to get pregnant with Rylee, but no clomid this time :)

This is a test...this is only a test

Oh wait, a TEST...not a test, I am done with school so I thought no more tests...oh well

So this is a simple test to see how many people actually ever look at my blog. I know I don't update much and so it is not like Jana's and something you have to check everyday. But I like to think that someone cares what goes on in our lives.

So all you have to do for this test is post a comment saying that you have read this post.

Oh and there is another part to the test....you have to be able to keep a secret. I am keeping a big secret and not doing as good as I wanted because I am a really bad liar. But as some people have figured out...Jared and I are expecting our next child. Yep that is right, I am pregnant. Now you don't have to keep this secret forever, just until the secret is revealed at Rylee's birthday party...REMINDER this Friday at Dobson Ranch Park, by the library!!! 5:30-7 PM BE THERE!!!! So anyways, I am working out the details of the big reveal (in case u follow me on fb, that is what I was stressing over today, and so now u understand why I couldn't talk to anyone, I had to find people who already knew my big secret) but I know that after Rylee's party it is not going to be a secret any more.

So as part of your post (I am copying Karri) you can guess how far a long I am or my due date (unless u already know because i have a big mouth) and we might as well get gender guesses in here too. We are going to find out as soon as we can by ultrasound.

So since everyone says that you don't take as many pictures of your second as you do your first, I have decided that I am going to try to chronicle this pregnancy by blogging to give this one something special.

I am boring. I don't know what to say. I want to be entertaining, but I am just not. I just felt like putting up a new entry on my blog, I don't really know how to do this. I don't even know how to put pictures on. Maybe someone will take pitty and teach me how to blog. Oh well, off to bed (no more staying up at Nicki's until 1 AM and then coming home and cleaning until 2 ish).

1- Where were you when you found out? In my grandma's bathroom in Blackfoot, ID. Jared was in Arizona, cus he had school. I was in Idaho for my grandfather's funeral.

2- Who did you first tell? Jared of course. But it was unfortunately over the phone because I wanted to tell him first and it was my 2nd day out of a week that I was in Idaho and with my entire family there and I couldn't keep it a secret from everyone until after I went back to AZ.

3- Did you find out the sex of the baby? Yes

4- Did you have morning sickness? Yes, it started in Oregon in Jared's parent's van on our way to the Medford Temple.

5- How much weight did you gain? I lost 10 pounds in the first trimester and then gained 45. I have 5 more pounds to lose before I am back to what I was prepregnancy.

6- Did you get any stretch marks? Of course.

7- Did you have any cravings? Not really anything out of the ordinary, I am always craving things.

8- Were there any complications? No

9- When and where did you go into labor? I didn't - at least not on my own. Induced a week over my due date.

10- Did your water break? At the hospital after induction, but not much came out cus his head was blocking it.

11- Who drove to the hospital? Jared

12- Who was in the room for the birth? Jared, Nurse, Doctor, at least one resident.

13- Was the baby born early or late? One week over.

14- How long were you in labor for? I had the pitocin at 4am born 9:05am (and that long was cus we had to wait for the doctor to get there, his wife had jury duty so he had to take the kids to school).

16- Natural or C-Section? Natural

17- What was your first reaction after birth? I noticed that he had acrocyanosis and that he had big hands.

18- How big was the baby? 7lbs 5.4 oz

19- Date and time of birth? August 18, 2008 @ 9:05 AM

20- Baby's name? Rylee Thomas Barleen

21- Does the name have any significant meaning? my dad is Ricky Lee so it is the first and last letter of his first name and his middle name. R___Y LEE. Thomas is my mom's maiden name and for Thomas S. Monson.

22- Did the baby have any complications? Nope

23- How old is the baby today? 5 months and 3 weeks.

24- What kind of temperament has the baby had so far? He is so laid back, he doesn't care if he has a messy diaper, and he loves to eat, has never had an issue with food.

25- Would you change anything about it? Not yet.
